da Scalzo is a friendly, relaxed Italian restaurant in bustling Belgravia, founded by London-born brothers Roberto and Enzo Scalzo.
“We were responsible for the popular Patisserie Valerie chain of cafés, and from this grew our desire for a challenge to create a restaurant that draws together Italian flavours, a home from home dining experience and great service.
“Growing up in a typical Italian family gives us passion for everything we do. It’s not just the quality of our dishes but true Italian ospitalità that makes the difference.
“Head Chef Andrea Betto from illustrious Rome has been with da Scalzo from the beginning. Andrea takes inspiration from all things Mediterranean, from stone-baked pizza and pasta with traditional recipe sauces to fresh fish and meat dishes.
“We source fruit and vegetables from Covent Garden, meat from Smithfield and fish, of course, from Billingsgate, and our ‘Chef’s Specials’ are devised from seasonal availability.
“In the mornings between 8.30am and 12pm, da Scalzo reinvents itself as a stylish London café with excellent Italian coffee served just as you like it, or loose leaf English tea to accompany your breakfast choice – from traditional full English to eggs Florentine.
“From 12pm to 11pm you can enjoy our regular menu, with a special lunch menu available until 5pm. We love long lunches in true Italian fashion, so stay a little longer and indulge in a glass of Sicilian dessert wine Morsi di Luce with its flavours of rich berries.
da Scalzo can seat 136 people across four different dining areas. Unwind in the main dining areas over two floors where you can appreciate a changing collection of contemporary art as well as sculptures and bronzes from Enzo’s private collection, or indulge in people-watching from our covered outdoor terrace.
“Alternatively take a table close to the bar to soak up the bubbly atmosphere of passers-by dropping in for a drink or our regular live music events – if you’re looking for live jazz in London, da Scalzo is the place for you.
“We love family so bring the children – high chairs are available. With ground floor facilities and accessible doorways, we are delighted to welcome wheelchair users to our restaurant.”
Roberto and Enzo look forward to welcoming amici old and new to dine at a friendly Italian restaurant with a London twist.
da Scalzo, located near London Victoria is open seven days a week from 8.30am to 11pm for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and dinner.
